This is wonderful Allie. This time of year is very special to me. It’s a complicated relationship that is characterised by love, loss and nostalgia, against the backdrop of unparalleled beauty, so this resonated with me. Thank you.
I actually imagined being there with you, starring at the glowing embers and watching the sparks rise as the fire burns. Your writing took me back to a chance encounter with a flying squirrel, during another night fire I was enjoying on a beautiful, crisp, autumn evening. Thank you for that brief journey and recollection. Ms Larkin, I'm signing up as a paid & interested reader.
A beautiful piece, Allie. Both your words and photos. Thank you for sharing. With each passing year, I love the darkness more, and with it, the thinning of the veil. Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons. Minus the holiday interruptions, which I now tend to ignore.🔥
Yes, I love that bright spring green. I wish I could say I loved all the seasons, but since I moved to New Hampshire, I was initiated into Bug Season from mid-May through September. I used to love summer, but now I tolerate it. Vicious biting bugs that steal my joy. :(
Thank you! I have begun the first draft of the story I mentioned. I am quite busy with my work lately, but hopefully I’ll be able to publish the the first chapter soon!
Beautiful, a lovely pause in my day. Thank you for sharing 🌱
Thank you for reading! 😊
A touching reflection 🔥
I adore this ✨🍂

Oh, I feel the same way about autumn, Ed. I'm glad to hear it resonated with you.

Thank you, Barbara. I feel the same way, although I do love spring, too. But nothing compares to fog, frost and snow.

I appreciate the folklore so much, especially your mention of Samhain. You continue to provide excellent inspiration for writing.
I'm excited to read what you come up with!
